The society is open to former students of the Architectural Conservation course at Mejan Arc, a department of the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Further information about this post-graduate course is available at the school’s website. We have more than 200 members, mostly architects, but also many art historians, archaeologists, restorers, building engineers and other professionals in the field of building conservation. Our members are spread all over Sweden, and we also have a number of members in Norway and Finland. The society is meant to be a contact network for discussions and exchange of knowledge and information in our field of work. We arrange excursions and seminars, visits to monuments and work-sites and even trips abroad. Our international week-long trips so far have been to Germany (Bavarian baroque), Italy (Florence and Tuscany), Spain (Andalusia), Scotland, the Middle East (Jordan, Syria and Lebanon) and Egypt. We have also made shorter trips to Venice, Rügen and the Scandinavian countries. We are very interested in international contacts related to building conservation. If you wish to get in touch with us please e-mail us at info@sallskapet.eu.
